Unrip Help Center
Unrip patches can be removed with Acetone. Saturate a piece of paper towel or small rag in Acetone and lightly dab the area while gently pulling up on the patch.
Yes, Unrip can repair chlorinated rubber. For best results, gently rub the chlorinated rubber surface with 120-grit sandpaper for about two minutes to lightly roughen it. This creates the necessary friction for the patch to adhere properly. Ensure the repair area is clean and dry before applying Unrip. Using the primer applicator is also required for a secure patch bond.
Yes! Unrip works well for repairing both large and small rips in your latex clothing. Rips longer than four inches may require that a repair patch is placed on both the front and back of the clothing. This allows for extra reinforcement of the repair.
If your having any difficulty with aligning the two sides of a rip, you can temporarily secure the rip edges with a piece of packaging tape on the opposite side of the repaired area before applying the Unrip patch.
If your desired color isn't available, please send us a message on our Contact Us page. Additional charges may apply for custom orders. If you have spare latex sheeting in the desired color (minimum size 2 ft x 1 ft), you can ship it to us, and we can create a custom Unrip patch for you.
Unrip is designed to work with most common latex thicknesses between 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm.
Unrip can serve as a temporary solution for repairing non-latex materials, like neoprene. However, since Unrip is latex-based, the shine and texture may not match most neoprene clothing. Durability may also be limited.
Unrip can generally withstand latex-safe silicone, water-based lubricants, and latex clothing shining products containing silicon oil, such as Vivishine. Automotive shining products, such as "Armor All," should not be used with Unrip. Please wait at least 48 hours after performing an Unrip repair before exposing the patch to washings, lubricants, or shining products. This allows the glue to fully adhere to the surface of the latex and avoids causing damage to the patch.
No, Unrip patches are designed for one-time use only and are intended for permanent repairs. Once removed, they cannot be re-applied.
To better align the pieces of a tear, secure the edges on the underside of the garment with a small piece of packing tape before applying the Unrip tape. For detailed instructions, refer to our How-to guide on using Unrip.
